‘We Arrived!’ Has Arrived!
Here at Jig and Reel, we get a kick from pouring up some of the finest whisky for all you fine folks to enjoy. But sometimes, a whisky comes along that is simply head and shoulders above all the rest. And one such whisky has graciously landed on our doorstep.
At this year’s critically acclaimed San Francisco World Spirits Competition, selected by a panel of the world’s leading spirits tasting experts, this whisky won the prestigious award of ‘Best in Show Whisky’, making it arguably the ‘best’ whisky the world has seen this year. This award and privilege goes to non-other than our good friends and bar partners over at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, with their Cask No. 29.224 Single Malt Scotch from the Islay region, ‘We arrived!’. This truly is a special bottling from the Society, and of course, being the world’s leading bottler who take great pride in their craft of curating unique ‘Single Cask’ expressions, this is truly a one-of-kind whisky.
From this award winning 18-year-old single cask which comes in at 55.3% abv., only 227 bottles were ever produced, and of those, only 60 bottles have made their way to the USA, and for that reason, it’s why we want to host a tasting event to share it with as many of you fine folks as possible.
This will be accompanied by two more new and exclusive Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottle releases from their extremely sought-after Feis Ile 2018 line up. Feis Ile is a yearly festival that takes place on the island of Islay in Scotland, and celebrates Gaelic culture, Language, Music and of course, that oh so famous Malt. Each year the distillers and bottlers release rare and special one-off bottles for festival goers to enjoy, and we have 2 of the Society’s 3 exclusive festival releases for you to enjoy.
The first being Cask No. 29.241 ‘A Perfect Moment’, a 20-year-old Islay Single Malt Scotch which comes in at 49.3% abv., and only 240 bottles produced. The second is Cask No. 53.252 ‘Smoky Incarnations’, an 11-year-old Islay Single Malt Scotch which comes in at 57.8% abv., with only 317 bottles produced.
There will also be food for you to enjoy while you sip, as we will be having a grazing table with a selection of Jig and Reel appetizers.
We are very excited about sharing these unique whiskies with you all, and we hope to see everyone on Saturday 28th of July at 4 p.m.
